Audience or Church?

In Michael Frost's book, "Exiles - Living Missionally in a Post-Christian Culture", he states that uses the following exercise in his seminars. He has the participants take a piece of paper and with a line down the middle title the columns 'Audience' and 'Church'. Here is what this list most often looks like:

So what are your thoughts on this? How do you see yourself?

I guess I should comment! I have seen myself go back and forth from audience to church. At Soul I feel as though my experience would lean more towards 'audience'. I see things moving more towards 'church', but I see so many people looking for the 'audience' experience that I don't know what could change!

Isn't that funny? The biggest change of course is my own attitude towards it.

I go out on a limb and say that Audience is Church for the most part. Church, based on that assessment would be pretty much close to perfect.

Audience, based on that assessment, is more like what church, not only is, but what it looks like for most people when they are searching for a church to attend.

If you don't believe me, just ask people why they go to church, or why they don't, you'll figure it out.
